Fort Smith, AR - Morrison-Shipley Principal Greg Shipley, P.E., has been appointed to the Advancement Council for the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, according to Dr. Mark Arant, Dean of the College of STEM. The Council, consisting of nine business leaders from technical companies in the Fort Smith area, is charged with assisting the College of STEM with planning and to serve as a sounding board for faculty ideas for future programs. The Council is chaired by Scott Archer, P.E., a Principal with HSA Engineering, Inc.
"During the past 12 years, UA Fort Smith has given Morrison-Shipley many opportunities to design improvements on their campus. To have the opportunity to reciprocate their generosity is a source of great pride for me", Mr. Shipley stated. "Dr. Arant has some great ideas for the future of the College of STEM, and I look forward to being a part of his team", Shipley added.
The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith is a four-year institution offering more than 100 major fields of study. The University recently announced record enrollment of approximately 7,800 students for the Fall 2010 semester, including 1,400 new incoming freshmen.
