Bentonville, AR - Morrison-Shipley's Bentonville office has been selected to provide civil engineering services for a design team lead by architecture firm Hight-Jackson Associates, P.A. for a new K-6 facility for the Bentonville Public Schools. The new school will be constructed on a 240 acre site near the intersections of Gator Road, SW Bright Road, and Highway 112 in SW Bentonville. The site is also being designed to accommodate future school district facilities, including a new junior high complex. The project is being constructed as a direct result of a school millage increase passed by Bentonville voters on April 13th.
Morrison-Shipley's services include the design of public infrastructure serving the new site, including: the widening and extension of SW Bright Road; the reconstruction of Gator Blvd; the extension of water and sanitary sewer mains; platting; and preparation of a Master Drainage Plan and a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. Additionally, Morrison-Shipley will prepare site grading and construction plans for the new K-6 school. Construction on the school expected to start in Fall 2010, and it is scheduled to open in Fall 2012.
Other design team members include HSA Engineering, Inc. (MEP) and Tatum-Smith Engineers (Structural).
