Siloam Springs, AR - Construction has begun on a new 298,000 SF High School campus for the Siloam Springs Public Schools. Working on a design team led by the Architect of Record, Hight-Jackson & Associates Architects, Morrison-Shipley provided site development engineering services, including: site grading, drainage, water & sewer utilities, parking lot/driveway design, and stormwater pollution prevention planning. According to Larry Grelle, Project Manager in Morrison-Shipley's Bentonville office, "This project disturbs approximately 52 acres of a total site area of 55 acres and includes more than 130,000 cubic yards of imported fill. Certainly, with these numbers, stormwater pollution prevention was a primary concern for the civil team." Mr. Grelle added, "We are extremely proud to be part of a team that delivered this project 20% below pre-bid estimates."
Necessary Construction Co., Inc. of Fayetteville will complete the $1.4 million site grading, drainage, and utilities package in September 2009, and Crossland Construction, Inc. of Rogers is scheduled to deliver the $31.8 million building in July of 2011.
