Fort Smith, AR - Morrison-Shipley is part of a design-build team that has won a commission from the Arkansas Air National Guard to design and construct a new Civil Engineering (CE) Squadron complex for the 188th Fighter Wing in Fort Smith. The $7.4 million project, to be constructed on a 5 acre site near Phoenix Avenue, will include 3 new buildings, including a 30,000 SF Headquarters facility. The project will be designed to meet the requirements of LEED Silver with a potential of achieving LEED Gold. "This will be the first project on which Morrison-Shipley will be a part of the LEED certification process", according to Greg Shipley, P.E., LEED AP, Executive Vice President of Morrison-Shipley. Design of the project should commence in September 2009 with construction scheduled for completion in Fall 2010.
